Idea: Integrate a Portfolio Performance Tracker with Tax Reporting Features

Hey everyone,

Been a active trader on CryptoMaster for a while now, and while I love the platform's speed and features, I've been thinking about how we can make it even better, especially when it comes to managing our investments long-term. One of the biggest headaches for many of us, myself included, is tracking portfolio performance and, more importantly, handling taxes. It's a real pain to manually compile all the buy/sell data for tax season.

My suggestion is to integrate a robust Portfolio Performance Tracker directly into the platform. This wouldn't just show current holdings, but also:

  • Historical performance over custom date ranges (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
  • Realized and unrealized P&L (Profit & Loss) calculations.
  • Asset allocation breakdowns (e.g., % in BTC, ETH, altcoins).
  • Comparison against market benchmarks (like BTC or ETH price action).

Even more crucially, I think we should explore adding built-in tax reporting features. Imagine being able to generate a report of your capital gains and losses for the fiscal year with just a few clicks. This could include:

  • FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) cost basis methods.
  • Transaction history exportable in formats compatible with popular tax software (like Koinly, CoinTracker, or even a simple CSV).
  • Clear breakdown of short-term vs. long-term capital gains.

I know this is a complex feature to implement, but it would be a massive value-add for the community. It would significantly simplify tax compliance and give us a much clearer, holistic view of our investment journey on CryptoMaster. What do you all think? Would this be a feature you'd use?

This is a fantastic idea! A built-in portfolio tracker with integrated tax reporting would be a massive game-changer for the platform. I've spent way too many hours wrestling with spreadsheets trying to figure out my capital gains. If CryptoMaster could automate even a portion of that, it would save so much time and stress.

Have you thought about what kind of tax reports would be most useful? Like, different country formats or just a general CSV export?

I've been seeing the same pattern with many traders I chat with – the tax reporting side is a HUGE pain point. You're spot on with this.

Beyond just performance tracking, having the ability to generate country-specific tax forms or at least a detailed transaction log that's easily importable into tax software would be incredible. It could really set CryptoMaster apart from other platforms that are still stuck in the manual data-entry era.

What are your thoughts on how easily users could verify the generated tax data? That's something I'd want to be sure of if I were relying on an automated system.
